Today’s best deals: Apple Watch, iPad, “Buy 2, Get 1 Free” sales and more

Ars Technica

It’s time for another Dealmaster! Our latest selection of the best technical offers from around the Internet includes a number of lower than usual prices for various Apple devices. For example, the 40mm Apple Watch SE is available for $ 229 at Amazon and Walmart at the time of writing. This is the best price we’ve seen since Black Friday, and only $ 10 more than the lowest price we’ve ever tracked. The same situation with the larger 44mm model, which is available for $ 259. Meanwhile, the top-class Apple Watch Series 7, there is to the lowest price to date: the 41mm model now sells for $ 329, and the 45mm model – up to $ 359.

To be clear, we’ve seen a few discounts on both of these watches in recent months, and they’ve usually sold less than Apple’s MSRP at Amazon, Walmart and several other online stores since their launch. It is almost inevitable that Apple will upgrade one or both devices by the end of the year. But if you have an iPhone and you want a wearable device to pair with it now, The Series 7 is still the top choice in our guide to the best smart watches, and the SE remains a great alternative for those on a smaller budget. As we noted earlier, both devices provide high build quality, reliable software and good enough activity tracking for most. Meanwhile, the Series 7 has a larger display that stays active when you lower your wrist, a higher charging speed and more advanced health monitoring tools such as ECG functionality and blood oxygen monitoring. If you may not notice these features – the lack of a constantly on display is probably the most noticeable – SE can do most of the same things though slightly slower, at a much lower price. Either way, note that not all colors for every watch are sold between two retailers. Aside from the Apple Watch, we also have a few discounts for the iPad. The 256GB entry-level 10.2-inch iPad costs $ 429, while the latest 10.9-inch iPad Air and 8.3-inch iPad Mini with the same storage are available for a minimum of 679 and 600 dollars respectively. These devices are not particularly cheap, but we rated all three positively. In short, the base iPad is probably the best price for most, as it still offers a fully competent path to the iPadOS at the lowest possible price. However, the recently released iPad Air is a pretty notable step forward in terms of performance, and its design is much more modern, with a larger and brighter display, a USB-C port, wider accessory support and better cameras. The iPad Mini, meanwhile, is built like a scaled-down iPad Air, though its processor is a bit slower. However, if you prefer a smaller design, this is the only iPad that fits. The 10.2-inch iPad and iPad Mini were launched in September 2021, and the iPad Air came out last month.

Departing from Apple, our review also includes a trio of “buy two, get one for free” sales on Amazon, Target and GameStop, covering a wide range of video games. (Amazon and Target sales also include a few other products, although the choices out there aren’t usually that appealing.) We tend to see that such sales appear every few months, and if you’re not looking to fill your backlog , it is possible to get some of the included games cheaper on an individual basis. But between the three stores the choice includes a number of games we like, including a thorough RPG Elden’s Ringan open world racer Forza Horizon 5and switch basic things like Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Apart from these, many more games are included, including more recent releases like Ghostwire: Tokyo and recycled Collection Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves, so you can save money if you still look closely at a few available games. In the case of each sale, if you add three suitable games to the cart, the discount will be equal to the price of the most affordable game you have chosen.

Apart from all this, our selection also includes new lows on the LG C1 OLED TV and a board game approved by Ars Wingspan, plus offers on AirPods, recommended Beats headphones for workouts, Nintendo eShop gift cards, SSDs, game monitors and more. You can read our full selection below.
